Driver Education Teacher Approval
Broome Community College is one of the five State Education Department (SED) approved colleges/universities that offers Driver Education Teacher Preparation Programs for New York State Teacher Approval. Both classroom and hands on training portions of the Driver Education courses make up this exciting program. The program provides flexability for teachers taking the program, offering bended courses; doing part of the coursework online and mentoring with a professor on campus, or a traditional program working directly with the professor on campus for the entire course. Classes are offered on weekends making the program easier for teachers to attend and the program is offered Fall, Winter Spring and Summer to meet the demands of busy teacher schedules. Courses are graduate level to provide teacher continuing education requirements. Teachers actually learn by doing rather than just by reading a book or doing computer work.
